I can't draw. Illustrate. Paint. Produce anything that looks remotely like 'art'. Even doodling is a chore. As a young impressionable pre-teen (about year 4) I was academically superior in everything ... with the exception of art and sports. In art class I remember one week I drew an apple in pencil. The next week I drew an apple and coloured it in green. The following week it was a red apple. And then I got REALLY creative. A red AND green apple. That's two colours in one apple. At this point my teacher suggested I choose a new subject matter. I can't remember what it was. A banana ?
And then the slacker's voice inside me screamed 'sketch over something and tell the teacher you did it'. So, Mickey Mouse it was then. Textbook mistake. It was TOO good. You don't go from repeatedly drawing apples and oranges to Ub lwerks overnight. I got caught out. Maybe I wasn't so superior.
Nothing much changed since. I probably couldn't even draw a fruit now. Self portraits amaze me. Any portrait, in fact. How do you do it? Put drawing pencil to drawing pad and create pictures? Is it like singing? .....................
How can those peepZ made such a perfecto kinda pict?? Holy dooley!! Eww.....
